Wyandotte, Mich.-based BASF Corp. announced Wednesday, July 24, 2013 it had launched a new website targeting public transportation use and BASF's product offerings serving the sector.

"Generally servicing urban and metropolitan areas, this market is driven by an increasing need for sustainable mobility coupled with enhanced passenger comfort and safety requirements," said BASF Mass Transit Team Leader Tomas Lopez. "BASF's broad portfolio of products and innovation platforms helps us to serve this industry at every step of the manufacturing process."

BASF says the website "provides easy access to the company's diverse portfolio of products and solutions currently available to the mass transit industry, including coatings, melamine foams, polyurethane systems, engineering plastics, epoxies, mobile emissions catalysts, lubricants, acrylic resins, metal organic frameworks (MOFs), and chemical intermediates."

The site also includes an "Ask the Mass Transit Expert," which lists answers to many commonly posed questions about industry-related topics as well as offerings available from BASF.

BASF Corp. is the North American arm of Ludwigshafen, Germany-based BASF SE, a global chemical and energy business.
