Marlton, N.J.-based Hill International said Monday, June 2, 2014 it has received an amendment from Los Angeles' Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority for program management services on Phases 2A and 2B of the $1.9 billion Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension light rail transit project.

The one-year contract amendment has an estimated value to Hill of approximately $8 million, the company said, involving the roughly 24-mile extension of LA's Metro Gold Line from Pasadena, Calif., to Montclair, Calif.

"We are grateful to our client for their continuing confidence in Hill as program manager of this award-winning infrastructure project," said Hill International Senior Vice President John K. Skoury, P.E., in charge of Hill's rail and transit practice in California.

Hill International is no stranger to the Gold Line's expansion. In 2009 Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) chose Hill International to manage the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority, an LACMTA affiliate, for design and construction of Phase 1 of the Gold Line extension, an 11.4-mile stretch from Pasadena to Azusa.
