Washington, D.C.'s H Street/Benning Road streetcar line, beset by delays, now is expected to begin revenue service in November, according to the District Department of Transportation (DDOT).
S\imulated service schedules, with the line's fleet of cars operating minus any revenue passengers, is set to begin next Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, DDOT said Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Street testing of the six streetcars purchased for the line, located in the city's Northeast quadrant, began last August. Phase 1 of the H Street Benning Road line runs roughly east-west between Oklahoma Ave./Benning Road and Union Station.
