Fairport, N.Y.-based RailComm says it has been selected to replace the communication infrastructure for Portland, Ore., Trimet's CTC Dispatch System at 10 separate locations.

TriMet, operator of Portland's MAX light rail transit system, will take "advantage of the RailComm protocol and communication solution, which is designed for reliability and robustness," RailComm says.

Control for the locations is being provided via the Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) system – RailComm's proprietary dispatch systems application.

RailComm's DOC is a single, off-the-shelf system that seamlessly integrates centralized traffic control, dark territory control, yard automation, and SCADA control solutions.

Designed to be completely extensible and expandable, DOC's modular architecture allows railroads to add, remove or enhance modules with no negative impact on performance or stability, RailComm says.
