A "previously unreleased" high speed rail pre-feasibility study was highlighted on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 by High Speed Rail Canada, an advocacy group, which urged the Ontario provincial government to advance London-Kitchener-Toronto high speed rail service.

The study, the group said, was completed last March by Hornchurch, England-based independent transportation consultant First Class Partnerships, Ltd. (FCP).

High Speed Rail Canada acknowledged that it was releasing the study "before the official government release," in hopes of spurring debate and action on the political level. The group noted such action was in keeping with its obtaining a copy of the latest report "[l]ike the two previous Ontario high speed rail studies not released to the public."

Paul Langan, founder of the group, stated, "Although this is just a pre-feasbility study of the line, it is definitely building up excitement on the return of high speed rail to Ontario. With the environmental assessment process announced, the Liberal government under Kathleen Wynne has done more to bring high speed rail back to Canada than any other Canadian federal or provincial government in the past 30 years."

The study is accessible on the High Speed Rail Canada website.
