An environmental assessment of Anaheim Rapid Connection (ARC) streetcar plans, set to be released this year, won't be made public until 2015, Anaheim, Calif., city officials said.

The proposed 3.2-mile, $320 million project still is subject to evaluation of route options following a City Council request to consider various alternatives. Anaheim still targets 2018 for commencement of operations, though some consider the target date optimistic at best.

The streetcar would run Anaheim Convention Center and nearby Disneyland in a rough "question-mark" route east toward Angel Stadium of Anaheim, also linking with the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), connecting with existing Metrolink and Amtrak service along the Lossan Corridor.

Nearby Santa Ana, Calif., is also exploring establishment of a streetcar line, possibly linking with the Anaheim project in the future.
