Wi-Tronix®, LLC said Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 it has signed a contract with Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) "to continue a strategic relationship."

Wi-Tronix said it will provide remote locomotive monitoring and Software as a Service (SaaS) to FECR's entire fleet, including its 24 new GE Evolution® Series ES44C4 locomotives.

The Wi-Tronix system places information at the fingertips of FECR's executive management team, from operations to maintenance. The system provides FECR with real-time access to locomotive on-board data, fuel conservation monitoring, and fleet productivity, Wi-Tronix said.

"Florida East Coast Railway is committed to operating safely and efficiently, and we are continuing to invest in both our equipment and technology to better manage the fleet," said FECR's Senior Vice President of Mechanical, Engineering and Purchasing Fran Chinnici.

Since fully integrating Wi-Tronix with FECR locomotives and business systems more than nine years ago, FECR has reduced fuel costs and improved fleet productivity through automated locomotive utilization monitoring and reporting.

Wi-Tronix said FECR also will continue to realize benefits using Wi-DownloadER™ remote access to locomotive on-board data and video in the future. FECR will utilize Wi-Tronix's array of tools and services to monitor and measure efficiencies, safety, and security for their fleet.
