This is the final stage of PTC testing before the FRA gives the go-ahead for similar PTC operations on Metrolink’s other regional/commuter rail lines in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and Ventura counties.
As systems integrator for Metrolink, Parsons is leading the design, procurement, and installation of field and office components, along with complete integration testing of the Metrolink PTC system. “We are pleased to have reached this important project milestone,” said Parsons Group President Todd Wager. “Metrolink is the first regional/commuter rail system to achieve this key FRA approval, which is a significant step not only for Metrolink but also for the railroad industry as a whole. It will help usher in a safer train system throughout the country.”
Parsons is the primary systems integrator in the U.S. regional/commuter rail market, helping a variety of customers meet the mandatory PTC system requirements of the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008. In addition to Metrolink, Parsons is working with Amtrak and New Jersey Transit on PTC systems integration and deployment.
