Industry-Railway Suppliers, Inc. (IRS) has promoted Vice President Scott Commo to President, succeeding Ron Hobbs, who has retired. The changes were effective May 1, 2015.
Commo, who has 15-plus years of experience in the railroad industry, joined IRS in 2011 and served in several positions before being named Vice President. Prior to IRS, he held various roles with large contractors, manufacturers and distributors. His background includes roles in management, sales,and marketing. Scott received his bachelor’s degree from Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisc.
Ron Hobbs joined IRS in 1978 “and has grown the organization into what it is today,” said Commo. “His contacts and relationships have evolved into friendships over the past three decades. We appreciate all of Ron’s hard work and leadership and wish him a happy retirement. He built a remarkable company throughout his career at IRS, I look forward to continued success and expanding the business within the railroad industry.”
