GO Transit, the public transportation agency operated by Metrolinx in the greater Toronto area, recently unveiled a new paint scheme for its regional rail and bus fleet.

The colors are still green and white, and the familiar GO logo (which debuted in the late 1960s) is unchanged, but the green is a much brighter color, and it’s applied in a different pattern than the now-familiar dark green/white “Phase II” scheme.

In the photo, GO Train 717 is seen heading westbound toward Toronto Union Station on the Lakeshore East line at Oshawa, Ont., on July 28, 2013. MotivePower (Wabtec) MP40PH-3C no. 607 is in the lead. The locomotive, at about two years old one of the agency’s newer units, had been released from the shops in its new paint scheme the day before. 607 is the first unit to receive the new colors.
