Edraki joins Gannett Fleming as VP of Canadian Operations

Alireza Edraki, PEng, PMP, has joined Gannett Fleming as a vice president of Canadian operations for the Gannett Fleming Transit & Rail Systems, the company announced June 24, 2015.

Based in the firm’s Toronto, Ontario office, Edraki possesses extensive experience in project management, systems and safety engineering, communications-based train control (CBTC), rail signaling, positive train control (PTC), guideway design review, track block design and fixed block and moving block signaling systems. He has completed assignments in more than 10 countries, and his expertise includes project integration; safety certification and release projects; and development of safety requirements in systems, subsystems, and interface levels for PTC, CBTC and interoperability requirements.

We’re pleased to have his leadership in our growing Toronto office and on numerous ongoing projects in Canada,” said Mike McNamara, PE, president of Gannett Fleming Transit & Rail Systems, a division of Gannett Fleming specializing in transit and railroad track, signal, communication and electric track design.

A frequent speaker on system safety and security topics, Edraki presented during the 56th Annual Transportation Research Forum and the 2015 International Rail Safety Seminal & Expo this year. He is a registered professional engineer in Ontario and British Columbia, and he is certified as a professional project manager through the Project Management Institute. Active in professional associations, Edraki is a member of the International Council on Systems Engineering, the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA). He is also a member of the APTA Systems Engineering Committee, the APTA Safety Committee and the AREMA Signal Committee.
