Scott Brash and his horse Hello Sanctos won the Canadian Pacific (CP) International, while helping to raise $150,000 through CP's Clear Rounds for Heart initiative, the railroad announced Sept. 13, 2015.

During the $1.5 million CP International, the final event of Masters week and conclusion to Spruce Meadow's 40th season, each clear round netted $10,000 for pediatric cardiology care at the Alberta Children's Hospital. CP donated $10,000 for each of the 11 clear rounds plus the four additional clear jumping rounds that included time faults. Great Britain's Brash had two clear rounds and CP ambassador and Canadian legend Ian Millar had one. CP also raised an additional $5,000 through the CP Has Heart Fun Run for a grand total of $155,000—all of which will benefit Alberta kids, the railroad says.

"CP is honored to have the ability to work alongside incredible organizations like Alberta Children's Hospital and Spruce Meadows, so that we can continue to make important charitable contributions like this," said Keith Creel, CP President and Chief Operating Officer. "I'd like to congratulate the Southern family on 40 years of show jumping excellence. We are honored to be the title sponsor of the CP Grand Prix and the CP International at this world-class facility."

Throughout Masters weekend, families showed heart as CP hosted a range of events on site for everyone to take part in, such as CP's mini-trains the Little General and Puffer Belly Express and the Canadian Pacific Spike Driving Championship Finals. “In the end, it is Alberta kids that will benefit the most,” CP says.

"We are so grateful to CP for choosing to help kids at the Alberta Children's Hospital through this exciting event," said Saifa Koonar, Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation President and CEO. "With their generous investments in heart health— not just in Calgary but across the country—CP has truly helped advance pediatric cardiac research and medicine, with far-reaching benefits for children and families."

The railroad added, “At CP, we know that a railroad may serve as the arteries of a nation, but at its heart is community. That's why, through CP Has Heart, we've already committed more than $6 million dollars to help improve the heart health of men, women and children across North America. And along the way, we're showing heart whenever we can.”
