WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization, has appointed Michael Unger as area manager for Colorado and Wyoming, the company announced Nov. 16, 2015.

In his new position, Unger will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the transportation and infrastructure group’s projects in the firm’s Denver and Colorado Springs offices, as well as in Wyoming where WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff also does work. Some of the firm’s recent projects in the region include design work on the RTD Southeast Corridor Extension, Denver International Airport program management and support services, Peoria Crossing in Denver, and the Las Vegas Road corridor study in Colorado Springs.

Unger has over 25 years of engineering experience serving public and private clients throughout Colorado. Prior to joining WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, he managed the Colorado operations of a national consulting engineering firm. He previously served as western regional manager for an international firm, responsible for the infrastructure business unit in the western U.S. and project manager for a significant infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi.

Unger received a B.S. in architectural engineering from the University of Colorado. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and is active in the American Council of Engineering Companies.
