The Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba and Canadian National Railway (CN) announced Dec. 12, 2015 that the CN Miracle Match program has helped raise more than $760,000 for the Children's Hospital-HSC Winnipeg.
Earlier this year, CN pledged to match donations up to $300,000 to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba's public giving campaigns, including the Ice Crystal Gala, Third Party Events, and Christmas for Kids live at CF Polo Park. The match also included pledges made to the Caring for Kids Radiothon in Winnipeg, Brandon and Pembina Valley.
"Thank you CN," said Lawrence Prout, President and CEO of Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. "You inspired our community and strengthened the belief that when we work together, we can help the children who need us most."
Created in 2006, the CN Miracle Match program rallies communities behind the very worthy cause of supporting children's hospitals. Since then, the program has raised more than $12 million for children's hospitals across Canada and the United States.
"Earlier this year, we gave Manitobans a very ambitious target of raising $300,000 which CN would match," said Jamie Boychuk, General Manager Prairie Region of CN in Winnipeg. "Once again, Manitobans have shown great generosity and we want to say thank you for stepping up and helping us build stronger communities through CN Miracle Match."
