SYSTRA has named Patrick Harrison, P.E., as Vice President and Sector Manager, Systems. He will lead SYSTRA’s signal, communications, and systems integration engineering practice and be based in the company’s New York City headquarters.

Harrison is a registered Professional Engineer with more than 36 years of experience managing complex engineering, design, and construction projects. He has expertise in the start-up and commissioning of major facilities for transit, government and utility clients.

Harrison’s engineering experience with transit agencies in the New York metropolitan region is extensive. Most recently he served as Senior Program Manager for the New York MTA’s East Side Access project, reporting directly to the MTA Project Executive. In that role, he was responsible for the engineering, construction, start-up, and commissioning of all railroad and facility systems for the project, which will bring Long Island Rail Road trains into a new subterranean facility adjacent to Grand Central Terminal.

Other key transit projects that Harrison has managed include NJ Transit’s Hudson-Bergen Light Rail transit system (Engineering Manager); light rail expansion in Houston Tex., (Project Manager), and NJT’s Hoboken Terminal Rehabilitation (Project Engineering Manager).

“SYSTRA is pleased that Pat has joined the firm to lead our signals, communication, and systems integration engineering practice,” said William Crosbie, P.Eng., President and CEO of SYSTRA’s U.S. subsidiary. “Pat brings a wealth of hands-on design experience and is a proven leader in the engineering industry. Our clients will certainly benefit from his leadership and expertise.”
