BNSF Railway has selected MOBI as its partner to provide more efficient mobile device management across its network of employees and machines, MOBI announced Jan. 14, 2016. MOBI, a technology platform that “empowers enterprises to manage the complexities of connected device environments” will provide BNSF with enhanced control, greater visibility and reduced costs.
With MOBI, BNSF will be able to unlock the full potential and benefits of a uniquely configured and executed enterprise mobility strategy. MOBI was selected to primarily assist with white-glove help desk support and advanced cloud-based mobility management software.
MOBI will help create this new mobile environment for BNSF through the following offerings: Mobility Management Software – BNSF will leverage MOBI’s cloud-based software to:
• Centralize mobility by integrating carrier data, MDM information, M2M data usage and corporate IT systems into a single point of control providing needed visibility to its mobile program.
• Replace manual processes with automated approval routing, mobility ticket creation and inventory detail updates, helping save BNSF employees’ time.
• Control who can enroll through specifying what devices, plans and carriers can be selected, and who has the authority to approve changes.
• Gain visibility into line-specific or program-wide details, dashboards and customizable reports, and provide BNSF actionable mobility insights.
• Enable employees to efficiently manage its mobile devices through policy acceptance, ordering to usage reporting and support.
Expense Management – MOBI will audit, optimize and reallocate BNSF’s wireless carrier invoices on a monthly basis, and audit and report weekly information surrounding data usage of M2M devices.
Device Logistics – MOBI will ensure all BNSF mobile devices are properly recycled.
Help Desk/Support – MOBI will provide BNSF employees with dedicated phone, email and web chat support for all mobile hardware, software and carrier-related issues.
