Kourosh Noori has joined Stantec as Rail and Transit Systems Lead, Canada. He will serve as an authority on Transit & Rail Systems projects and provide guidance on managing and executing them. He will be based at Stantec’s Markham, Ontario office.
Noori brings to Stantec a wealth of experience in diverse systems project management encompassing infrastructure projects in both traditional (design-bid-build) and alternative project delivery methods. With more than 20 years of industry experience, he has focused his work on modern and conventional rail transit systems—from Communications-Based Train Control, Positive Train Control and cab signaling to OCCs (operations control centers (OCCs) and other supervisory systems such as SCADA, CCTV, ITS and tunnel ventilation systems.
Throughout his career, Noori has supported numerous rail transit projects around the world such as the Toronto Eglinton Crosstown LRT Project, the London Underground Jubilee and Northern Line Upgrade Project, the TTC Speed Supervision System (SCS), the Dubai Metro, the Wuhan LRT, the Guangzhou Metro, the Las Vegas Monorail, and the Hong Kong KCRC. A registered professional engineer in Ontario, Noori has also published and presented multiple papers conferences such as APTA, TRB and IEEE in systems engineering, signaling, hardware and software obsolescence, asset management, state of good repair, reliability, maintainability, availability and safety.
