The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) will host its 13th Annual Railroad Construction & Maintenance Equipment Auction on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Blackmon Auctions facility in Little Rock, Ark. Thomas Blackmon, Jr. of Blackmon Auctions and his team will run the proceedings.
Proceeds from the auction go toward the NRC Safety, Training, and Education Program. For equipment consigned to sell, 1% of the buyer’s premium and a 2% seller’s fee go to funding the program; the seller keeps the rest. All of the proceeds from donated equipment go to the program. Last year, 380 pieces of equipment sold for $1.1 million to on-site and online bidders.
The NRC Safety, Training, and Education Program funds the production and distribution of NRC safety materials including safety DVDs, which help contractors train their workers in the safest and most effective rail construction and maintenance techniques and reinforce that safety in the workplace is everyone’s responsibility.
