Indiana Rail Road Co. (INRD) President and CEO Tom Hoback will host ceremonies this Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, as the regional railroad officially opens is new $7.6 million Locomotive Maintenance Facility near Jasonville, Ind.
Scheduled to join Hoback and INRD is Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-Ind.), whose district includes Jasonville and southwestern Indiana.
INRD says the new facility "replaces a cramped, 100-year-old engine house and is equipped with state-of-the-art environmental controls, an ergonomically-friendly and climate-controlled working environment for INRD's mechanical team, and an on-site parts warehouse."
The facility is located in the Hiawatha Yard, the operational hub of the INRD system, located 70 miles southwest of Indianapolis and 25 miles southeast of Terre Haute, Ind.
Railway Age named Indiana Rail Road its 2012 Regional Railroad of the Year.
