.CSX updated its restoration efforts post-Hurricance Matthew. Normal train operations have resumed to Savannah, Ga., Charleston, S.C. and Portsmouth, Va. The main line from Hamlet, N.C. to Charleston was next to resume.
RESTORATION SCHEDULE:
Columbia, SC to Charleston, SC branch lines: These lines (i.e. Lane, Orangeburg, Eastover and Creston subs) are anticipated to be back in service by the evening of Friday, October 14th.
W&W Sub: This line is anticipated to be back in service by the evening of Saturday, October 15th.
Wilmington Sub: Several sections of track along the route have experienced washout conditions. At this time, CSX engineering anticipates a week to 10 days for repairs to be completed.
Andrews Sub: The north end of the Andrews Sub between Andrews, SC and Dillon, SC currently has an expected timetable of a week to 10 days to be back in service.
Pennyroyal, SC and Georgetown, SC: These areas are still being evaluated with the repair timetable to be determined.
Tarboro and Parmele Subs: Both of these subs are still being evaluated with the repair timetable to be determined.
Fort Bragg Spur: There is currently an expected timetable of a week to 10 days for repairs to be completed.
