Lisa Ives joins HNTB

Transportation and environmental project management professional Lisa Ives has joined HNTB Corp. as a senior project manager and associate vice president, focusing on delivery of major transportation projects in the planning, environmental and conceptual engineering phases. Based in Seattle, she currently is working on a light rail extension design and value engineering on-call project for Sound Transit.

Ives has 28 years of project management experience in transportation and environmental planning in both the private and public sectors. She has advanced major transportation projects throughout the country in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Jose and Los Angeles. Prior to joining HNTB, Ives spent 12 years at AECOM as an associate vice president and project manager, working with many public transit agencies, including VIA Metropolitan Transit, the CTA, MARTA, and the Los Angeles County MTA. Her previous experience also includes principal planner/project manager for the Santa Clara VTA and senior planner for San Mateo County Transit District/Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board.

Ives served as project manager for major transportation projects, including various alternatives analyses, Environmental Impact Statements/Environmental Impact Reports, and related preliminary engineering services. She also has a comprehensive knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act, California Environmental Quality Act, and FTA New Starts/Small Starts processes. Additionally, she has been an instructor for the National Transit Institute’s course on Project Management for Transit Professionals. Ives holds multiple degrees from Eastern Michigan University, including an M.S. in Geography-Environmental and B.S. in Earth Science. She is an active member of the American Planning Association, Women’s Transportation Seminar and National Parks Conservation Association.
