Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff, has been appointed to be Under Secretary for Policy at the Department of Transportation.
Rogoff, fresh from fencing with anti-rail forces attempting to scuttle the Cincinnati streetcar project, is filling the vacancy left by Polly Trottenberg, who recently accepted the position of New York City transportation commissioner.
FTA Deputy Administrator Therese McMillan will serve as FTA Acting Administrator.
"We thank Peter Rogoff for his nearly five years of leadership at FTA, where he advanced public transportation throughout the country," said American Public Transportation Association President & CEO Michael Melaniphy in a statement.
"Therese McMillan has been an outstanding FTA Deputy Administrator and has extensive expertise and understanding of public transportation programs," Melaniphy said. "We look forward to working with her in her new leadership role as Acting Administrator."
