DART's first light rail transit consist operated over five new miles of the Orange Line Wednesday, April 16, 2014, testing the extension for future service to and from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
A test train ran between Belt Line Station and the new DFW Airport Station at Terminal A, a DART spokesman said. Conditions were evaluated relative to train movement, overhead electrical system, vehicle clearances, signals, and equipment, DART said.
The transit agency urged those "moving around DF/W Airport should be cautious of trains going slowly and stopping frequently."
DART is targeting regular passenger service to begin on the route on Aug. 18, 2014.
