North County Transit District in San Diego County, Calif., said Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, it will introduce a revamped website Friday, Aug. 30.

The site, www.GoNCTD.com, is built on the web platform WordPress, which features easy-to-find links and more options for passengers, NCTD said.

NCTD expects those using the site will find key information in intuitive, easy-to-find spots. "Online ticketing, and information about construction updates, Positive Train Control, and right-of-way permitting is all readily accessible on the new homepage.

Other benefits of the re-designed website are the interactive schedules for COASTER and SPRINTER," the agency said. Related bus services also are accessible.

Safety and security are also prominent on the new site. When active, alerts and safety messages will display on a special banner at the top of the page so passengers can quickly and easily receive these vital updates.

"In the coming weeks, the site will feature custom Google maps and real-time arrival information. The site also boasts a fresh, new look which should be more inviting to users. The site's icons have been re-designed to more-closely resemble today's most popular transit and travel icons for easy recognition," NCTD says.
